Alloy Media + Marketing is a leading media and marketing services company catering to the youth and multicultural audience. Our primary customers are major entertainment, consumer products and technology companies looking to advertise to the youth demographic. We own and operate youth-focused media assets as well as provide promotional and placement agency services to our client base. We are looking to hire a Junior Planner for our Alloy Access group located in New York, NY.

Alloy Access is the urban and multicultural division of Alloy Media + Marketing, an Alloy, Inc. company. As part of Alloy Media + Marketing, Alloy Access delivers custom solutions for consumer brands targeting multicultural and urban lifestyles.

The Junior Planner is a critical part the team that interacts with our clients. The Junior Planner is expected to have a clear understanding of consumers, brands and cultural trends and should be able to hypothesize about how the three connect. A Junior Planner is also expected to create plans and execute research uncovering insights that inspire our agency team and our clients to produce big ideas. A successful Junior Planner will form strong relationships with creative and account groups and become a trusted and respected member of the team.

Passion for great work and contributions to the idea process should get the Junior Planner embraced by the account teams for their support in bringing better business-building ideas, and valued by the client for their insightful perspective on the consumer trends, lifestyles and relationships with brands. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who is an effective individual contributor in a fast-paced Agency environment.

Alloy Access seeks candidates that are passionate, energetic, collaborative, solution-oriented, have a bias towards thinking “outside the box”, and consistently demonstrate a strong sense of professional integrity and accountability.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency with internal Consumer Insights tools and Account Planner responsibilities;
  • Identify and interpret trends and external information with a focus on presentation of actionable ideas and suggestions:
  • Compile and analyze secondary research from a variety of sources, such as trade journals, research reports, white papers and cross-tabulated survey data
  • Monitor cultural and social trends that affect a client’s business and for internal knowledge
  • Effectively present relevant data to internal clients and external contacts, as necessary
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of the research process and independently execute a number of methodologies:
  • Write new project POVs and research proposals, develop screeners, surveys and discussion guides
  • Oversees qualitative research projects from start to finish
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Moderate qualitative and some online quantitative research
  • Videotape interviews and groups and edit footage for presentation
  • Review tracking studies, segmentations
  • Analyze data and draw actionable conclusions from these projects and create a summary report for presentation
  • Build and strengthen effective working relationships with various functional groups internally and begin to manage a client counterpart relationship;
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the form of information delivery:
  • Provide suggestions for added value projects for clients in addition to day to day responsibilities
  • Facilitate brainstorms, work sessions and workshops to help involve teams in strategy development and help tie insights to great ideas and creative work
  • Other duties, as required

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in related field is required,
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience is required, in an Agency environment is strongly preferred;
  • Previous moderation and project management experience is required;
  • Demonstrated success in a similar role with a focus on the urban or multicultural consumer is required;
  • Proven client service orientation with influential written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment as an individual in a team environment;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Bilingual communication skills (Spanish) is strongly preferred;
  • Limited travel may be required for this position.
