Job Title: Accountant

General Responsibilities:

• Prepares financial reports and supporting journal entries that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial position of the company.
• Assures financial data integrity through the implementation and maintenance of a strong control environment.
• Keeps abreast of, and applies GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Develops a solid understanding of FAS 71.
• Performs researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, recommending possible solutions, and engages in follow up activities to resolve them.
• This role is a support role for the Accountant 1 positions, and is expected to solicit additional duties as availability occurs, particularly during critical path close, but also throughout the month.
• Maintains a positive, self-motivated attitude with a team-based approach to issues.
• Exhibits resourcefulness and ownership, as well as business acumen.
• Process minded focused on continuous improvement.
• Develops skills to maneuver within the systems to extract data needed for value-added analytics and/or problem resolution.
• Detailed approach to seamless tactical execution built from the strategic vision.

Specific Responsibilities:

Responsible for preparing the following on a monthly basis:

1. Preparation of Operation & Maintenance Schedule

2. Preparation of A&G analysis

3. Consolidated Financials

Sales & Use Tax preparation – timely and accurate filing

Escheatment Funds – timely and accurate filing by state (varied deadlines)

Prepare and distribute monthly CARMS reporting and analysis

Responsible for SOX compliance, including:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

1. Big 4 Public Accounting Firm experience preferred
2. Two to three years of accounting experience
3. CPA license is preferred
4. Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel (advanced preferred), PowerPoint, etc.; Access a plus
5. Financial systems experience with SAP, Oracle, or other Operating/General Ledger applications
