HOURS:
On-Call Monday - Friday 8:00am –
4:00pm
COMPENSATION:
$10.00 / hour
MAJOR ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:
1. Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom
setting in order to insure maximum learning
2. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport
3. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available
4. Responsible for adequate classroom preparation
5. Maintains student personnel folders
6. Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records
area
7. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms
8. Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms
9. Participates in staff meetings or other
student/staff-oriented functions
10. Attends in-service training sessions as required
11. Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Education. State certification is required. Certification may be waived by Region Office
if center is unable to hire certified teachers.
Must pursue certification.
Preferred: One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth.
Knowledge Required: Knowledge of required subject area, excellent
communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills,
must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, ability to motivate and
inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
