Otsuka is seeking an Oncology Account Manager for the West region to contribute to OAPI's overall sales objective by performing assigned sales related activities. The individual will identify and develop appropriate physician/clinician contacts within his/her assigned territory and leverage such contacts to drive sales within labelled indication and ensure that adherence to all compliance and regulatory laws while promoting products on behalf of Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. are strictly enforced.

The specific duties assigned to the Oncology Account Manager include the following:

  • As a sales leader, you are expected to achieve territory sales by executing Plan of Action (POA) marketing strategies, which include delivering branded sales messages, executing planned promotional programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets (meeting quota requirements) within the scope of our labeled indication.
  • Responsible for servicing and managing accounts, which includes ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product sales within labeled indication.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy and effectiveness reviews of sales activities and territory analysis, in addition to developing and implementing territory business plans. Maintain and update business plans on a quarterly basis and review with appropriate internal teams.
  • Participate as and when needed/working in cross-functional or other project teams and/or supporting peers, the overall division, region or franchise.
  • Demonstrate leadership among peers by consistent application and modeling of the appropriate behavior and conduct in compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as with all company policies.
  • Required to obtain and maintain full proficiency and knowledge of disease state, product and other aspects or issues as provided for and mandated by the company.
  • Attain the designated objectives for calls on appropriate targeted accounts to communicate balanced, accurate, and complete information on OAPI products within our labeled indications.
  • Manage the territory in an efficient and orderly manner, ascribing to principles of key physician/account prioritization, daily call reporting, and total account management.
  • Demonstrate a consistent completion of administrative requirements including reporting in a timely manner, budget management, log-in, expense reporting, etc.
  • Operate the territory within the assigned expense budget.
  • Complete all required initial training courses, maintain a high level of product knowledge and advance training as appropriate.
  • Comply with all state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines including PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals as well as comply with all OAPI standards and policies relating to all job activities.
  • Understand and consistently apply OAPI's corporate values to everyday activities.
  • Identify and develop SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) within territory.

The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • BS or BA required.
  • Minimum 3 years, preferred 5 years Hematopoietc Stem Cell Transplant experience calling on transplant physicians, nurses, PharmDs required.
  • Sales experience in the hospital environment a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience with 2-3years pharmaceutical experience in hospital based oncology sales would be considered.
  • Computer proficiency is required.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required (no more than three moving violation convictions within the past three years). Ability to meet appropriate healthcare facility credentialing guidelines required.
