GENERAL SUMMARY
Assists in establishing departmental credit and collection policies and procedures and independently manages a portfolio of over $100M. Collects open and past due balances through various collection tools. Assists in the training and development of new and existing employees. Prepares management reports and resolves customer disputes. Visits customer locations to resolve problems and improve payment processes. Analyzes customers'' credit worthiness and determines their ability to pay. Employs tactical expertise to develop process improvements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize complex problem solving skills to answer customer inquiries, insure prompt payment, reconcile account, and process necessary paperwork to insure departmental goals are met.
Develop positive working relationships with customers and other departments as well as act as liaison for projects and cross-functional training.
Review bank and trade, third party reports, financial statements, and information obtained from the internet, to establish appropriate credit lines up to $10M.
Negotiate instruments of security such as letters of credit, escrow agreements and guarantees of payment.
Assist in workload assignments and help direct the work activities of Credit/Collection Associates and Analysts. Present ideas and information to departmental staff and/or management in a formal or informal environment. Mentor new employees and assist in their training and development.
Provide tactical solutions to problem solving and assist in strategic initiatives to improve processes and productivity for accounts receivable portfolio.
Use forecasting models to prepare and/or present management reports for anticipated cash receipts for the period. Complete special projects as required, to facilitate strategic initiatives.
