Summary:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
• Responsible for supervising a minimum of ten clinical staff members.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
• Current Washington RN License required. Current CPR certification as Healthcare Provider.
Oncology Certified RN required.
•
Minimum of 3-4 years working in health care setting, preferably in
office based clinical setting, with increasing responsibilities.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills required.
•
Strong customer service skills and possess a desire to maintain
professionalism in all interactions with providers, staff, clients, and
customers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability work effectively with a diverse population.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and foster a cooperative work environment.
•
Strong computer skills required, along with the ability to train staff
on computer functions. Previous experience with an EMR is preferred.

Description: Responsible for the day to day coordination of patient care in specific
department(s). This includes independent supervision of clinical staff
including medical assistants, technicians, registered and licensed
nurses, and other staff with a clinical care focus. In conjunction with
the Clinic Manager and the Office Staff Supervisor, is a member of the
management team for the assigned departments(s).
I. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Operations
• Responsible for the daily supervision of clinical staff.
• Assures compliance with all safety and regulatory bodies.
• Models professional behavior and customer service in the clinical setting.
• Supervises use of equipment, supplies and medications, assuring staff has thorough training and understanding.
• Advocate for use of the EMR, providing training and support as new processes are introduced.
• Responsible for assuring that current operational and organizational information is shared with staff in a timely manner.

Responsible to assure understanding of clinic policy and department
guidelines, enforcing policies with compassion to ensure that each
person is treated fairly, equitably and with respect. Identifies
opportunities for updating current policies/guidelines and creating new
policies/guidelines.
• Assures that staff members understand their
responsibility for operational and administrative processes, including
review of forms for completeness with timely submission on daily basis.
• Responsible for clinical staff monthly schedules and daily
assignments, coordinating requests and coverage for time off.
Responsible to receive sick calls and determine the appropriate use of
staffing resources.
• Provides nurse coverage when necessary, on a
short-term relief basis. Role is specific to department and may include
phone and walk in triage, injection room, and procedure support.
•
Responsible for coordinating weekly ordering of medical supplies and
equipment, participating in the evaluation of new supplies and/or
equipment.
• Responsible for time card submission and overtime.
Personnel Development and Supervision
•
Oversees all aspects of hiring, counseling, performance evaluations,
and progressive discipline for clinical staff within the department.
• Responsible for new staff orientation according to Clinic and department guidelines.
• Responsible for ongoing training for established staff.
•
Serves as a mentor for new clinical staff. Responsible for timely
completion of MA competency packets and state certification
application.
• Coordinates the competency testing, every six months, for CLIA waived quadrant laboratory testing.
• Provides cross training, when appropriate for staff roles within the department.
• Demonstrates a management style that encourages and reinforces employee growth and development.

As part of the area management team, provides input on all aspects of
departmental administration including clinical staff activities and
performance.
Department Coordination
• Member of department
management team with Clinic Manager and Operations Supervisor. Shares
responsibility for department provider and staff meetings, including
documentation of minutes.
• Responsible for regular meetings for clinical staff, providing minutes and documentation.
•
Knowledgeable of provider credentialing, scheduling templates,
protocols, days off, department call schedules, and policies related to
these processes.
• Serves as a resource to providers about Quality
concerns including withdrawal of care, risk management situations,
medical alert procedures, etc.
• Acts as patient advocate for care
concerns. Serves as first level of response for patient compliments and
concerns. Submits compliment/concern reports to Manager and Quality
Department.
