External Description: Seward, Alaska -- Providence Seward Medical and Care Center has an immediate opening for a Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine to join our exemplary care team in one of the most beautiful places in the world. The position will cover 26 weekend shifts per year, each shift consisting of 58 hours. The shift will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and end at 6 a.m. on Monday. New physician will be responsible for all ER patients and in-patients over the weekend with a back-up doctor on call. In 2008, we saw a total of 2,396 ER patients (seasonally higher in the summer months) and a total of 390 swing bed/inpatient days. Excellent compensation/benefits package for this three-quarters time position, leaving ample time to explore the amazing surroundings.Providence Seward Medical and Care Center is a 6-bed critical access facility in this picturesque town on the edge of Resurrection Bay. Though Seward's population is about half out-of-towners during the tourist season, every patient at Providence Seward is treated like family. Our terrific community health care team offers an array of services, including emergency, inpatient, physical therapy and on-site lab and imaging.
