OCSD is currently looking to fill the role of an Instrumentation Tech II.

Under supervision, the Instrumentation Technician II performs a variety of complex assignments in the installation, maintenance, and calibration, of process control instrumentation and related equipment; implements additions or modifications of control systems; troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, microprocessor-based and pneumatic and mechanical process control components; identifies, isolates, and diagnoses failures using various types of test equipment; interprets schematic and loop drawings and coordinates repairs with other divisions as necessary. Other duties will include installing process control components, panels, cables, and systems; determining measurements and developing drawings for installations; ordering equipment, parts, and supplies for installation of systems; installing parts, equipment, piping, and wiring per design specifications; calibrating the instruments; testing the systems; correcting any failures; and coordinating installation with other divisions as necessary.

The successful candidate will possess an education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work or trade school training in instrumentation technology or a related field. Three years of increasingly responsible experience maintaining, calibrating, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical process control instruments is required. Possession of a valid Grade I Electrical/Instrumentation Certificate from the California Water Pollution Control Association or comparable Instrumentation Society of America (ISA) certification is desirable. Knowledge of instrumentation principles, methods, tools, equipment, and safety procedures is required. The ability to prepare accurate technical reports, purchase requisitions, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing is strongly desired.

Salary: $33.69 - $40.95 Hourly

A credit union is available. Benefits are subject to the Board of Directors' periodic determination (usually annually) and the meet and confer process, and are therefore subject to change. The District makes a generous contribution toward the cost of these benefits.
