Leading NYC Financial Services Firm seeks a Web Production Specialist to support the initiatives of the ePlatform group. The Web Production Specialist is a critical role to the success of the online applications and is responsible for managing production projects and liaising with other members various teams within the firm.
This is a production role and requires a high level of performance with attention to detail and quality of work while meeting production deadlines and multi-tasking. Candidate must be a self-starter that can perform in a team environment. This is a hybrid role for someone who has had exposure and experience in both the web design (information architecture) as well as the front end development of web sites. The suitable candidate has a core focus on designing user experiences by leveraging current day and best of breed concepts. The candidate not only can propose a design but can also implement the front end code to make it happen. An ideal candidate would take inspiration from both Boxes and Arrows and Scriptaculous and be just as passionate about W3C Standards and Yahoo! Design Pattern Library.
Responsibilities include:
· Collaboration with Marketing Communications and editorial staff in all aspects of planning, developing, implementing and maintaining digital communication across the firm’s internal and external online applications and e-newsletters.
· Translate print based communication to online and other digital media presentation channels that leverage best practices in usability.
· Responsible for front end coding of html layouts and templates that adhere to the corporate branding style guidelines and follow SEC/FINRA compliant web requirements.
· Responsible for email production which includes content layout and html configuration.
· Responsible for daily technical troubleshooting to support the operation of the firm’s internal/external facing online solutions
· Subject matter expert on firm’s applications architecture that drives the development of creative and concludes in recommendations on implementation approach, mockups, and estimates.
· Work with the Technology teams (in-house and outsource) to deploy next generation look and feel of all online applications by serving as the production coordinator, carrying out implementation and ensuring quality assurance with each deliverable.
· Develop/implement appropriate new media assets, including Flash, podcasts and embedding streaming media.
Basic Requirements:
· 4+ years designing and implementing interactive content using HTML and XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Actionscript, ColdFusion, .Net, Flash, Flex, or using code-generating programs, such as Dreamweaver and Visual Studio
· A combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created
· 3+ years solving for web usability issues
· 3-5 years experience in web design and development of internal and public facing sites.
· Exceptional Communication Skills
· Ability to build and edit templates within a CMS environment
· Knowledge of business-to-business site functionality
· Ability to develop and test online content constructed for all audiences; including the mobile user with standard compliant code and techniques for cross platform and cross browser compatibility.
· Ability to complete work in a time-sensitive environment with competing and fluid priorities
· Ability to work in a self-directed team environment utilizing strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
· Ability to participate in a project team (that may consist of business users, consultants and other development staff)
· Works well under deadline, pays strict attention to detail, and performs quality assurance testing before publishing.
· General knowledge of the Financial Services Industry
