Applications Development ManagerPosition descriptionThis leadership position is responsible for managing a team of highly skilled Information Technology (IT) associates within a high growth and dynamic business and technical environment. Generally, the IT leader in this role will spend their time in the following areas:
Associate management, coaching, and development - 50% Process management, review, and enhancement - 50%
Associate management includes coaching and developing associates, conducting performance appraisals, and helping individuals develop their skills and knowledge.
Process management requires the Manager to ensure existing governance processes, such as project and portfolio management, prioritization, resource allocation, and the software development life cycle, are being properly followed. In addition, the Manager will participate in IT's efforts to enhance and improve processes that are critical to the delivery of quality application systems and enhancements including
For this position, the business applications supported include those dedicated to call center customer service representatives, mutual fund transfer agency transactions, financial and shareholder transaction processing, on-line processing, and shareholder communications. Hiring criteria Prior experience managing people including direct responsibility for performance appraisals Prior experience leading IT teams including coaching, guidance, encouragement and overall support Thorough knowledge of IT project management and business analysis functions and deliverables Thorough knowledge of Project Office functions and governance processes Thorough knowledge of the systems development life cycle (RUP knowledge preferred) Knowledge of the Usability discipline, processes, and work products Good judgment in identifying issues and recommending solutions to others Track record of developing and maintaining positive working relationships Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred BenefitsWe offer excellent salaries, a progressive environment and a premier benefits package that includes: - Medical, dental and vision coverage effective day one
