Job Description

Export Control & Customs Manager

Plan, organize and implement strategies to minimize risk and ensure compliance to U.S. government import and export regulations and Siemens internal requirements for all Siemens Energy divisions, business units, locations and subsidiaries. This positions functionally reports to Siemens Energy's CFO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Implement the standards contained in the "Siemens Energy Business Ethics and Conduct Policy".

* Ensure that all employees reporting to this position are informed about the standards and related policies, and enforce them within this supervised activity.

* Manage internal control program for import and export compliance to ensure compliance to government and corporate requirements.

* Functionally report to Siemens Energy CFO for all import and export compliance matters, including providing quarterly updates that identify risks and improvement strategies.

* Interface with Siemens Energy divisions, business units, locations, subsidiaries, Siemens AG, Siemens Shared Services, customhouse brokers and freight forwarders regarding import and export compliance procedures and requirements.

* Evaluate current processes, identify risks, develop solutions and implement improvements related to import and export processes/requirements into divisions, business units, locations and subsidiaries.

* Coordinate export technology compliance, technology licensing and foreign national visitor licensing with Siemens Shared Service and internal technology partners.

* Coordinate import entry post-audit process with Siemens Shared Services to ensure compliance to proper valuation, classification and other government requirements, including ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

* Evaluate and implement technology solutions that integrate key import and export processes/requirements into current systems.

* Integrate and provide support to the supply chain to ensure least cost duty-minimizing alternatives to global sourcing decisions.

* Develop and provide training to Export Control & Customs (ECC) employees, ECC Partners, purchasing, logistics, transportation and other Siemens Energy employees involved in import and export related activities.

* Develop procedures, modules and conduct audits at divisions, locations and subsidiaries to identify defects, develop solutions and coordinate improvement implementation.

* Coordinate external and internal audits performed by Siemens AG, Siemens Energy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bureau of Industry & Security and other government entities.


REQUIREMENTS

* Extensive knowledge of import and export compliance matters, including knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bureau of Industry and Security and other related government regulations.

* Extensive knowledge of project management processes and procedure development.

* Extensive knowledge of logistics activities.

* Extensive knowledge of problem analysis and problem solving techniques.

* BS degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience in business, logistics or technical field. MBA preferred.
