Memorial Hospital Los Banos is a 48-bed, not-for-profit hospital that exists to maintain and improve the health of the citizens of greater Merced County and to provide health education programs and events to the community. Under the supervision of the Department Manager or designee, is directly responsible for the care given to a group of patients. This includes assessment of patient needs, development of patient care plans, administration of nursing care, evaluation of nursing care and supervision of non-professionals in delivery of care.

Each component of the CN II job description has a set percentage: Patient Care component is worth 85%, the clinical component is worth 5%, the educational component is worth 5% to equal 100%.

Serving Merced County Westside area with 48 care beds, the facility is part of Memorial Hospitals Association and Sutter Health, a not-for-profit organization that exists to maintain and improve the health status of citizens in its geographic area. Memorial Hospital Los Banos provides and promotes effective inpatient and outpatient health care services including 24-hour Emergency Care, Rural Health Clinic, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Diagnostics Imaging, and Intensive Care Unit and Physical Therapy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California.
  
• Must have a minimum of one of the following: Six months recent nursing experience as baccalaureate in nursing or health related field or Twelve months recent nursing experience and taking on upper division class per semester towards a baccalaureate in nursing or health related field or Six months recent nursing experience as a RN and maintain at least one advanced certification, i.e. ACLS, PALS, etc.
  
• Must have obtained a minimum of 15 continuing education contact hours in their area of specialty during the last 12 months.
  
• A CN I applying for a CN II position must have received a satisfactory performance evaluation in the most recent one. The manager must discuss any problems or concerns regarding performance with new hire or CN to provide opportunity for correction of possible deficiencies before the application process is started.
  
• As a CN I must have had no written counseling during the last 12 months of employment.
  
• A nurse hired at the CN II level will consult with their manager in order to submit activities/goals within 3 months of hire.
  
• Ability to read, write, hear, and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
