Overview:

Drive sales and develop business through personalized customer service and client development. Achieve personal selling goals as well as develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Key Accountabilities:

In addition to the GREAT SERVICE standards on the selling appraisal, Vendor specialists are to execute the following:
  • Make the customer the number one priority and assist in their merchandise selection by using the following Customer Service skills.
  • Greet everyone immediately; approach customers courteously, conversationally and immediately upon entering the department; stand away from the wrap stand; cross the aisles (to other areas) to greet customers.
  • Adjust selling style to the level/tempo of the traffic.
  • Build relationships with customer for future business opportunities by following up on special orders, locating desired merchandise, following up on previous selling or service needs.
  • Responsible for knowing vendor products, features and benefits.
  • Accountable for Specialist program-specific service standards.
In addition to the GREAT TEAM listed on the selling appraisal, Vendor Specialists are to execute the following tasks:
  • Partner with selling manager to plan and execute store vendor meetings and to communicate business-driving opportunities to store leadership team, other areas, merchants and vendors.
  • Share vendor product knowledge to include new products and selling tips with other team members with the goal of enhancing business driving opportunities and achievement of sales plan.
  • Support the Merchandise Processing team in the recovery process.
  • Execute the housekeeping standards of our company in the department to include cleaning, dusting, arranging merchandise and sizing, where applicable
  • Step into whatever role is needed for the benefit of the team to ensure that the needs of the customer are being met.
  • Partner with Merchandise Processing Team and Vendor Coordinator to ensure execution of specialty line concepts and standards.
In all selling areas, build repeat business by using appropriate CLIENTELE techniques, to include:
  • Appropriate use and maintenance of clientele files.
  • Following up on special orders, locating desired merchandise, following up on alterations.
  • Placing follow up telephone calls to customers to check on their satisfaction with regard to purchases or to initiate an offer of future services.
  • Scheduling appointments with customers and preparing for their visit while maintaining appropriate floor coverage in assigned selling area.

  • Meeting or exceeding sales and credit goals.
  • Meeting or exceeding customer service goals.
  • Meeting or exceeding repeat personal Clientele goals.
  • Meeting or exceeding vendor line goals.
