Job Description

With minimum supervision, the ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of the health, safety, and loss prevention duties in the Ohio DC for the purpose of minimizing risk and potential loss due to errors, injuries, policy violations, or hazardous conditions. Goals will be achieved primarily through audits, education, and ongoing training programs. This position is located in Columbus , Ohio at the Groveport Distribution Center , reporting to the Sr. Director of Distribution.



Primary Responsibilities

  • Expert level understanding of all applicable OSHA standards and trends
  • Create and communicate health & safety policies & OSHA training programs
  • Develop, monitor, and report on annual health & safety goals
  • Partner with Facilities & Engineering teams to assess and mitigate risk
  • Partner with Distribution & Finance teams to assess and mitigate loss
  • Identify and reduce physical, inventory, and administrative loss
  • Monitor and manage internal and external security concerns
  • Serve as a liaison with BWC, OSHA, and other insurance & risk related agencies
  • Manage DC Hazmat program


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Health, safety, Hazmat, and loss prevention professional certifications a plus
  • 7+ years of applicable experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution
  • Strong understanding of equipment and ergonomic safety issues
  • Excellent skills in partnering, coaching, and education
  • Strong leadership & management skills focused on achieving business objectives
  • Strong knowledge of industry-related organizations and trends
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Successful history of implementing process improvements and related programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Oracle experience a plus)
