Residential Counselor: Camelot School

Position Summary

Assists in the direct care and management of children & adolescents (ages 5-17) as prescribed by the physician, licensed therapist and Treatment Team. Provides safety and assists in crisis management for resident/consumer population. Orientates, trains, keeps records and supervises residents/consumers under the direction of the Team Leader.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree (BA, BS or BSW) in a Human Services discipline from a four year college or University. Two years experience preferred. Degree will be waived with minimum of two years experience working with children and adolescents in a residential treatment setting. Minimum one year of experience working with adolescents in a residential treatement setting preferred.

Requirements:
Current TB (PPD) test at time of hire & every two years thereafter. Physical exam at time of hire and every two years thereafter. Signed employee acknowledgement of physical health and Infection Control responsibilities.

Licensure/Certification:
Current Tennessee Driver's License with good driving record. CPR certification.

Skills/Abilities:
Good verbal and writing skills, ability to rotate shifts as necessary, ability to maintain confidentiality of resident/consumer information. Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position. Meets basic health requirements of The Camelot Schools examination without restrictions.
