The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation, located in the Southwestern Alaskan town of Bethel, is entrusted with ensuring the health of a culture whose spirit of caring is equally as strong as yours. Join our fully accredited, 50-bed general acute care facility, where services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging. Your compassionate care will help to reinvigorate the health of the over 50 rural communities who come to us for care.

The person in this position will work with the Training Center Instruction team in didactic, skills and clinical Basic Training of Community Health Aide students to develop their primary, preventative and emergency care, knowledge and skills. Working with the Field Instruction Team, this person will provide Community Health Aides individual clinical follow-up instruction geared toward the student's needs as well as to evaluate his/her Basic Training care, knowledge and skills. Working as a liaison between Basic Training Education and Filed implementation, this person will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of Community Health Aide instruction from classroom student to village health care provider. Throughout the process this person will follow statewide Community Health Aide Training Curriculum, Manual, and Standards; travel to village clinics to assess student learning needs, progress and practice. Additional related projects and duties supportive of Community Health Aide training, competence and practice will be expected.



  • Family Nurse Practitioner; Physician Assistant; Physician (MD or DO)
  • Two years of recent positive family practice experience. Related experience may be considered (e.g. Women's Health). Teacher training and experience desirable, but not required.
  • FNP/PA Certification; FNP, PA, MD, DO
  • Must have current licensure in State of Alaska
  • National Certification required
  • Must be fully credentialed at YKDRH and be a member of Medical Staff
  • Must have a current DEA number
  • Current BLS, recommend ACLS and PALS
  • Satisfactory reference and criminal checks.
