Qualifications

Supervise, lead and support Pulp Mill, Power House and Woodyard employees to continually and consistently provide the Paper Machines with sufficient quality and quantity of pulp, steam and related utilities in the safest, environmentally correct and most cost-effective manner. Administer supporting documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Major Responsibilities

1.Supervise and monitor all aspects of Pulp Mill and Power House product quality/quantity while managing preferred inventory control.

2.Perform walk through inspections, conduct safety audits, observe employee work habits and conduct safety meetings.

3.Monitor all department operations utilizing computer PI system, Foxboro Graphics, communications with operators and department walk-throughs.

4.Coordinate and assist with planning of maintenance, isolation and lockout/tagout of equipment and inventory control.

5.Supervise proper care and operation of equipment.

6.Troubleshoot and oversee proper shutdown and start-up of equipment and assist with shutdown coordination between departments

7.Attend and conduct Safety, Fire Brigade and Hazmat training and meetings.

8.Evaluate performance and training of Line of Progression employees.

9.Fill shift and job vacancies as needed. Complete timecards and maintain company records and logbooks. Assist with resolving pay issues and scheduling. Submit work orders.

10.Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.

11.Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, insures positive employee relations and reviews the performance of employees.

Education

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Pulp & Paper Technology preferred.

Experience

3-5 years experience. 5 plus years experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

Computer skills: AS400, Excel, Word, PI System and Foxboro DCS. Zenger-Miller supervisory training. Fire Brigade and Hazmat training. Knowledge of boiler operations, boiler feedwater quality, pulping technology and basic mathematic skills. Knowledge of company policies and procedures, general knowledge of all departments and jobs for which this position is responsible. Good people skills needed.
