| Job Description SAP BASIS PRINCIPAL-0900184 Description The SAP Basis Principal is part of a Global Timken team responsible for providing SAP Basis technical support for production, development and project SAP instances. The Global Basis team is currently responsible for 52+ instances of SAP which include SAP modules ECC, XI, APO, BW, BI, EP, GRC, SRM, MDM. This position is a top level technical contributor for the SAP Basis area and an internal consultant providing technical guidance on projects and providing ongoing SAP support requirements.
The SAP Basis Principal will be responsible for delivering enhancements, technical designs, leading smaller projects within the SAP Basis area and operational support in a specific SAP competency work stream as defined within the global deployment of SAP at The Timken Company. Emphasis on this position is to apply SAP technical knowledge and experience in information systems technologies to related areas of assignments including SAP Basis operational support. Position is considered as an SAP Basis Level 3 technical contributor.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:-
- Provide internal consultation for SAP technical expertise on one SAP module.
- As individual professional, carries out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved procedures.
- Responsible for developing process and procedures for maintaining appropriate operational service levels of the SAP environments.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, executes, or coordinates detailed phases of SAP Basis projects.
- Develops and evaluates plans and criteria to be carried out by others; provides direction and leadership.
- Assesses feasibility and soundness of tests, software, system interfaces, and/or equipment.
- Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined procedures, processes, practices, or methods.
- Keeps abreast of new methods & developments in the application development and SAP/ERP field.
- Works independently, or in charge of the maintenance and development of systems.
- As an SAP Basis Level 3, from an operational perspective, is involved heavily with problem management, rather than incident management (ITIL terminology). This involves problem determination, documentation and training for SAP Basis Level 2 to use for future incident resolution.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in CIS, Information Technology with 8+ years experience.
- Masters Degree in CIS, Information Technology with 5+ years experience in SAP Basis Technical Skills with 5+ years experience.
- Proven SAP BASIS work experience with mySAP ERP 2004.
- Proven experience working with Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience leading small teams; excellent customer interfacing skills.
- GAP Analysis; Developing Project Plans, Configuration, Unit & Integration Testing
- Java WEB AS Single/Dual Stack Installation/Upgrade experience
- Java WEB AS 6.40/7.00 Administration/Monitoring experience
- XI 3.0 Administration experience
