Responsibilities:
Responsible for contacting customers of delinquent accounts that are 1-29 days past due with an emphasis on accounts that are 22 to 29 days past due to collect payments and cure accounts (bring them current). In addition, s/he is responsible for supporting the collection supervisor in scheduling, interviewing, training and mentoring other Loan Service Representatives on the team and providing coaching & guidance in handling escalated customer calls.
Essential Job Functions:

Receive incoming calls from customers to get quality promises for payments and collect payments on delinquent accounts.

Assist other team Representatives with call quality and talk-off skills to achieve desired results, as well as deal with escalated calls or complex issues.

Meet and exceed established collections and productivity goals including, but not limited to, promises to pay, contract rates, dollars collected, and other specific collections metrics.

Supports Collection Supervisor upon request with scheduling, training, coaching and mentoring of other representatives.
- In the absence of the Collection Supervisor, may assume acting supervisory capacity upon request.
- Conduct work with consistent adherence of Fireside policies and deal with issues in a manner that is in the best interest of the company and business objectives.
Qualifications:

High School diploma required. BA/BS desirable.

Minimum 5 years progressive collection experience.

2 years specifically in Auto Lending industry preferred.

Demonstrated strong knowledge of FDCPA.

Clear understanding of the collection process, and demonstrated ability to collect high volume on delinquent accounts.

Some supervisory or prior experience as a lead in a similar function preferred.

Demonstrated ability to train and coach other collectors.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Strong problem solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed goals.

Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Must be able to work nights and/or weekends as required.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Job requires ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, walk, twist and turn. Basic use of standard office equipment; use of computer keyboard/monitor. Very high phone use. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Standard office environment with heavy phone and computer use. Ability to work Saturdays and evening hours is a must.
