NewCars.com, a division of Cars.com and Classified Ventures, is one of the leaders in the online automotive leads space. We are a small progressive technology and search engine marketing division based in Santa Monica , CA . Due to the rapid growth of our business, we in need of dynamic individual who will work hard, learn quickly, and be a self-starter. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this job include conceptualizing, designing and assisting in maintaining all web sites under the Cars.com ( Santa Monica ) division. Work with a friendly team of skilled professionals driven for excellence. Create full-color mock-ups with the ability to code and implement into full working HTML prototypes. The Web Designer will play a key role in helping the company succeed through improving the design and brand of the web pages. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively translate business concepts and specifications into compelling revenue generating pages.

Skills/Experience required:

• Must be familiar with user-interface and information architecture principles and how to design web sites with complex information or functionality. Ideally has worked on consumer facing transactional or ecommerce oriented sites.
• Must be skilled in Photoshop or Fireworks and Dreamweaver.
• Must have the ability to hand-code HTML and a deep understanding of CSS.
• Familiarity with developing interfaces for PHP based sites and data driven Flash apps is a plus.
• Should be comfortable with basic JavaScript editing.
• Should have strong conceptual and creative skills with a demonstrated depth of experience in copy/design integration, typography and interactive interface design.
• Should be a self starter comfortable working with both small and large teams.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of the automotive space a plus.
