POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Standard Hours: 8-hour various shifts, weekends included.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or GED preferred. Graduate of a medical assistant or lab assistant school preferred.
Must have legible handwriting, knowledge of spelling, grammar and basic arithmetic. Demonstrates skills in dealing with the public and telephone courtesy. Ability to work with a team and prioritize work. Ability to read product of others, computer/monitor screens, and computer printouts. Performs mathematics calculations.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
California State Phlebotomy certification.

PHYSICAL DEMAND ANALYSIS
Walking, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting outpatient care areas. Able to work with frequent interruptions. Moderate exposure to communicable disease and blood borne pathogens, rare exposure to toxic substances such as radiation, nuclear isotopes and chemotherapeutic agents. High level of concentration and attention to detail. Ability to be in one place for a long period of time.
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs specific clerical and receptionist duties, coordinates departmental communication and assists with department and selected patient care related activities as necessary for the function of the department. Performs venipuncture or skin puncture on all patients. This positions treats/cares for patients of all ages. Performs other clinic duties as assigned.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization.
