Electronics Maintenance Specialist

2nd SHIFT

Provides technical expertise in support of maintenance activities involving instrumentation, control systems, electro-mechanical troubleshooting, training, design modifications. Provides guidance to maintenance and production employees to ensure continuous plant operation. Assists other technical and production personnel during start-up and provides on-going support for electronic control systems and associated mechanical devices.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will follow all proper electrical and safety procedures while troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, disassembling, removing and installing equipment in the plant. He/she must work well with others and co-operate with plant personnel in a way that demonstrates Hershey's Core Values.

The successful candidate will:

1. Understand the theory of electricity.

2. Use and understanding electrical testing equipment. (Amprobe, multi-meter,

oscilloscope, laptops, etc.)

3. Read and understand electrical schematics.

4. Systematically troubleshoot detailed electrical/electronic systems.

5. Systematically troubleshoot PLC's and PLC controlled systems.

6. Have experience in DOS and Windows.

7. Systematically troubleshoot motion controllers and motion controlled systems

8. Systematically troubleshoot all types of instrumentation

9. Have experience in loss in weight feeders and pid control

10. Have experience in HMI's

11. Have good organizational and decision-making skills.

12. Be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

13. Have the ability to work independently and set priorities.

14. Train and develop the skill sets of other employees.

15. Be able to operate effectively within an annual budget.

Qualifications:

This position can be filled at one of two levels depending on experience.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years experience with industrial control equipment. A Trade School or Associates degree is preferred.
