USDA Production Manager with experience in Meat/Beef food production for leading South East Company



The Company

Our client is an industry leader and has an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Plant Manager at their facility in Eastern Georgia . The Opportunity

The Assistant Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring productivity, quality, cost targets and safety standards are met or exceeded while coordinating production within budget parameters. This includes the development of budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with management personnel to establish Production and quality control standards.
  • Plan and direct production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinate production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Confer with Purchasing and Receiving to ensure raw material testing and usage are done.
  • Ensure that ordering for as many as sixty different raw materials is done in a way that minimizes extra truck loads at month end.
  • Complete month end physical inventory raw material explaining any variance to budget.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product formulations, and operating or production problems.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to test viscosity, bond, shrinkage, wedge cracking, and application in order to improve product quality.
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production data.

Requirements

Qualified Candidates for the Assistant Plant Manager position will have a BS/BA degree in Food Sciences or Business Management (desired but not required) MUST HAVE at

least 3-5 years of current Production Management and/or Plant Management experience from within a USDA Meat Manufacturing Facility. Candidates MUST HAVE a solid and stable work history in order to be considered. At this time, ONLY candidates with a USDA Manufacturing background will be considered.
