Leads the Personal Lines Underwriting function for the company to meet or exceed corporate goals on profit and growth. Responsible for implementing the Personal Lines vision throughout the company by partnering with other areas on policy issues and day-to-day management of the Personal Lines Underwriting Team. Qualified candidates will be able to meet the demands of high volume, time sensitive requests and longer term complex decisions. Both require strong organization, decision making and regular prioritization. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and/or college is desired, not required. Requires 5 years experience in P&C Underwriting, including strong knowledge of underwriting, coverage, pricing and risk management. Supervisory skills acquired through formal academic training and/or extensive, quantifiable career experience preferred. Continued advanced education and/or specialized professional training required. Requires superior leadership, communication, and management skills to create a learning environment that focuses on results, customer service and its continuous improvement. Requires the possession of team based leadership abilities. Must be able to gain skills in all aspects of coaching individuals and multi-discipline teams. Must be a leader who can implement the corporate vision and be recognized, corporately, as a leader. Requires continuing professional development, CPCU or equivalent insurance designations and/or coursework is desired. Requires the ability to work independently. Must be results oriented, driven by ownership and commitment. Requires the ability to effectively utilize computer systems to perform essential job functions. Requires the physical capability/mobility to travel to county offices and/or meetings for essential job functions, other companies or vendor sites as required by a project. Level will depend upon experience.
