Process Metallurgist – Materials Engineer

Our client, an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of metal products in various forms, is seeking a Process Metallurgist at their plant in a Southeastern State.

The Process Metallurgist will join a team of manufacturing professionals in a leadership position and develop new products, implement product improvements and resolve production issues. This is an unusual opportunity for an experienced high-energy, high- achieving professional to join a disciplined staff and position him/herself in a key spot for future organization and career growth; candidates must be capable of growing into positions of greater levels of responsibility in the future. This is a high visibility position with an opportunity for significant rewards.

The Process Metallurgist will also:

  • Lead process improvement and cost reduction projects
  • Assure compliance to ISO process and procedural requirements
  • Occasionally travel to customer sites to represent the company
  • Mentor and coach junior staff members

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Engineering; other relevant degrees will be considered
  • 7-10 years of relevant steel industry experience
  • Experience with an ISO certified manufacturer
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers.
  • Ability to establish priorities, organize work and establish accountabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
