Sr. RAID FW Applications Engineer
Our Application Engineering Team is responsible for working closely with the
Product Development Teams, Product Validation Teams, Marketing Teams, and Sales
Teams to provide world-class technical customer support. We provide technical
support to assist in design wins, customer product ramp, and customer product
production. We offer a challenging and dynamic working environment with

business.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical
support for RAID customers
- Support, manage,
maintain hardware and software for processor based storage integrated circuits
and reference designs
- Work closely with
Tier 1 OEMs to define requirements, manage deliverables and support initial
bring-up to full production
- Work independently,
and in a team environment
- Travel within
North America and internationally, as needed to
work at customer sites to debug hardware and software for our market leading storage devices product lines
- Working closely with
cross-functional teams to support customers
- Support of
hardware/software solutions to assist with new product design wins, customer
ramp to production, and production
- Develop verification
requirements, understand architectures and HW/SW designs in order to
characterize customer related problems, providing timely customer technical
support and engineering feedback
- Develop customer
level
documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in
EE, CS, or CE
- Minimum 5 years
experience
- Strong fundamental
understanding of RAID and RAID SW/FW with ability to review and modify
code
- Strong technical
leadership, teamwork, communication and presentation skills
- Strong
software/firmware development and debug skills
- Experience with bench
top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and other
storage related test equipment
- Ability to
effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical
locations
Desired
Qualifications
- Experience with mass
storage firmware and software
- Strong system design
skills (HW and SW)
- Performance
measurement and analysis experience
- Familiarity with
storage networking concepts and protocols (Fibre Channel, 10/100/1000 Ethernet,
SCSI, SAS and SATA, iSCSI, PCI, PCI-Express)
- Experience with RISC
based embedded processors (MIPS preferred)
- Past work with Unix
& Wintel drivers and experience in FW development with light weight embedded
kernels (ThreadX, VxWorks, eCos, etc.)
- Strong debugging
skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG, serial port
- Experience with
board-level debug & bring-up
- Customer facing
experience
- Hardware and chip
development/debug skills
- Experience working
with Marketing and Sales teams
- Experience in the
Storage Industry
- C/C++ programming
skills
- TCP/IP
knowledge/experience
- Local Area Networking
