We are seeking to fill two positions and the descriptions are very similar for both. Preferred location is Los Angeles or Irvine, CA. Both positions are for Rail Transit Senior Project Managers . Both positions require 20 or so years of experience. One leans more toward the client manager BD side and is more of a generalist and the other is more specifically geared toward transit facilities and is more project focused. CA PE and BSCE required with MS preferred. Rail Transit PM Generalist (Responsibilities and requirements) •Assist the West Transit Manager in positioning the company for pursuits of transit projects opportunities. •Assist in or manage the pursuit of major transit projects either as a lead (prime) designer or in a major subcontractor role. •Prepare response to RFQ / RFP. Lead and / or participate in presentation •Manage the project group activities, including the management of facilities design, systems design, system integration and project control and administration. •Work with and be the single point of contact to the Client. •At least 20 years of experience in Transit, with a minimum of 5 years in a position of project manager of major transit project (s) •Understands well the different delivery methods of a transit project: Design Build, Design Bid Build. CM at Risk, PPP, etc. •Understands well how to implement the tools required and manage different type of design contracts: Cost plus, cost plus fixed fees, firm price and category rate contract. •Proven experience in managing, coordinating and supervising daily the work of all the practices/disciplines involved in large transit projects: Facilities/Civil Design, Systems Design, Specialties Design, Systems Integration and Project, and Control and Administration. Rail Transit Sr.PM Maintenance Facilities (Responsibilities and requirements) Prepare RFQ / RFP responses. Lead and /or participate in presentations. •Manage a project group in charge of the preparation of conceptual layouts, preliminary engineering and final design. •Track project actual (expenditures) and estimate to complete against project budget and maximize profit. •Work independently and within a team setting •Work closely with clients at client locations •20 years minimum of transit facility design experience with 5 years experience in the field related to the design of rail vehicle maintenance/storage facilities, experience in bus facilities a plus. •Proven experience in project management: cost control, schedule control, and contractual issues. Knowledge of Primavera. Strong in coordination between disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, MEP, trackwork, systems, industrial engineering, etc.). Knowledge of BIM a plus. •Experience with both design/bid/build and design/build construction and LEED •Strong client relationship and good communication skills.
