POSITION REQUIREMENTS Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Pain Management is accountable for promoting excellence in clinical nursing practice and is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advanced clinical practice, education to staff, patient, family and community. The Clinical Nurse Specialist-Pain Management performs patient evaluations, counsels patients / families and collaborates with physicians and other
members of the health care team to provide effective pain management to inpatients.
Experience
Five years RN clinical experience in the acute care environment. Demonstrated
ability to utilize the electronic medical record. Knowledge of pain management
principles and practices.
Education
Minimum - BSN Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred - Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.
Special Skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Licensure
Required: RN = Registered Nurse license in the state of Nevada.
CT CPRACLS = Advanced Cardiac Life Support CPR.
CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
Nurse Practitioner Certification.
Certification in Pain Management within one year of hire.
