Overview Supporting the 270-attorney international Corporate Group, the Corporate Marketing Manager (CMM) will be responsible for project managing and carrying out a wide variety of marketing, thought leadership, business development and client development activities for the group initiated by the Corporate Marketing Director, the Global Corporate Group Chair, or the Co-Chairs of the Corporate subgroups, including M&A, Private Equity, Public Companies and Securities, and Emerging Companies and Venture Capital. Projects will include the research, planning, production, and follow-through of business, finance, and industry research projects; new business pitches; conference sponsorships; custom events; strategic alliances; client service products; thought leadership; and marketing communications and materials.
Responsibilities Drawing from his or her strong familiarity with a broad array of corporate finance transactions, concepts, terminology, and resources, the CMM will apply creativity, foresight, planning, and project management skills to help the Corporate Group achieve its strategic goals and execute on its strategic marketing action plan. The CMM will help develop and implement a number of specific existing, planned, and ad hoc projects. The CMM will generally help the Corporate Group accomplish those goals and projects by managing or assisting in: new business presentations; data management and reporting; editorial management; client relationships, alliances management, and training; and business development and marketing administrative management.
Desired Skills and Attributes The Corporate Group Marketing Manager ideally will have experience in corporate finance marketing and will be familiar with relevant tools, resources, institutions, and activities. This experience may be substituted in part by a degree or coursework in corporate finance. Experience in investment banking marketing or law firm corporate marketing preferred, but experience as a corporate lawyer or paralegal or in investment banking, accounting, or related background is also welcome. Must be familiar with corporate finance terminology and concepts. Experience conducting online and primary corporate research and familiarity with SEC filings, corporate finance databases and related research tools helpful. Should have very strong skills in all Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel, and ability to create and produce complex spreadsheets and manage extensive data. Must be able to work collaboratively and with a positive, respectful, professional attitude across all departments and levels. Strong business writing skills desired. Must be highly detail-oriented, with great attention to accuracy, and be able to excel in the face of multiple deadlines and a heavy workload.
