The Developmental and Molecular Pathways department is looking for a highly motivated and experienced research associate to join the drug discovery team. The scientist will be responsible for establishing complex cell-based assays for high-throughput screening, target validation, and pathway dissection. She/he will facilitate the identification of modulators of cellular behaviors and signal transduction pathways, and the progress of lead compounds to advanced discovery phase. The ideal candidate for this position will participate in assay design, and independently develop assays for MTS and HTS. In addition the candidate should have experience with automation associated with plate-based screens and high content imaging. The applicant must also have strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. The position requires an individual who is flexible and enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment.
•BS or MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology, with 5+ years of laboratory research experience. • Extensive experience with culturing various mammalian cell lines, utilizing both 2D and 3D culture systems, designing cell-based assays, generating stable cell lines, and executing small molecule screens with laboratory automation equipment. • Experience with high content imaging and designing/executing high content imaging-based screens. • Outstanding molecular biology techniques including complex DNA cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, and qPCR. • Exceptional expertise in genetic screening with siRNA/shRNA/cDNA by conventional and viral transduction technologies. • Proficient in various protein analysis techniques, including, but not limited to, ELISA assays, immunoprecipitations, and western blots. •Excellent communication skills
