Minimum Qualifications: 1. You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National; AND 2. You must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent; OR at least one year of full-time work experience in security work, aviation screener work, or x-ray technician work.
Part-time with Full-time Federal benefits • Paid, ongoing training Part-time (16-25) hours per week. Part-time work hours for this position consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
When you serve as a Transportation Security Officer, you are a gatekeeper to the American way of life, helping to protect the traveling public by screening passengers, baggage and cargo. You may be charged with conducting screening activities at any airport that provides commercial services to the public. You’ll assist in monitoring the flow of passengers through the screening checkpoint to facilitate the orderly and efficient processing of passengers. You’ll also maintain close communication with supervisors about any issues that might reveal a weakness or vulnerable area of security screening you discover, and participate in information briefings concerning security sensitive or classified information.
