AVP, Financial Reporting: Countrywide Financial Corp.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

· Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements for all Balboa Life & Casualty companies and all Countrywide Insurance Services (CIS) Legal entities

· Consolidating all Balboa Insurance Group (BIG) entities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

· Analyzing balance-sheet and income-statement results for each Legal entity to determine the accuracy of financial statements

· Assisting Accounting Managers and Senior Management with various Financial and Accounting Projects (as necessary)

· Supervising other employees who assist with the preparation of various schedules and exhibits

· Coaching and conducting Performance Appraisals

· Participating in hiring decisions and other Management activities

A Successful Candidate Will Have:

· Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree and/or equivalent experience

· 7+ years Accounting experience—with at least 5 years directly related to Insurance Reporting and Accounting

· 5+ years experience in a Senior Management role

· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of General and Statutory Accounting principles and practices

· Comprehensive knowledge of the interpretation and application of Accounting theory

· Ability to effectively manage time and deadlines

· Strong interpersonal and communicational skills

· Ability to clearly communicate to external Auditors/Examiners and internal Management

· Ability to ensure that all team-members understand key procedures and requirements

· Ability to manage staff at all levels

· Ability to clearly communicate performance standards and expectations

· Ability to provide on-going coaching, feedback and development suggestions to improve individual performance

· High degree of financial acumen

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Ability to interpret complex data in meaningful and relevant ways

· Ability to recognize and reward the accomplishments of others

· Proven track-record of effectively managing change and continual process-improvements
