Storage Engineer
Job Description:
Raytheon is seeking a Storage Engineer who will provide day-to-day support of the classified and unclassified storage for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Position is on the Joint Regional Defense Center (JRDC) program at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Storage Engineer
will be responsible for
creating, modifying, and following processes for day- to-day management and monitoring of classified and unclassified storage capabilities for the Missile Defense Agency.
Assist in the configuration and implementation and maintenance of classified and unclassified storage-in particular, the implementation, operations and maintenance of Microsoft Sharepoint Services storage requirements. Maintain SAN infrastructure (NetApp, EMC, HP and IBM) and backup and recovery on varied computer platforms including Sun Solaris, Linux and Windows using Symantec Netbackup. Assist in the engineering, design, and installation
of additional classified and unclassified storage capabilities. Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy incidents related to the backup and SAN infrastructure and its continuing maintenance. Other storage engineering duties may be required.
Required Skills: - Must have a BS degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or technically related field or possess equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Must have technical certification(s) including A+, Security+ and Network+ and Server+
- Must have a minimum of 4+ years related storage engineering, system administration, network administration or computer operations experience or other relevant experience in a technically related field
- Must have ability to quickly adapt to new situations
- Must have strong commitment to a team environment
- Must have the capacity to work unsupervised
- Must have the desire and willingness to learn new technologies
- Must be available to travel to other Missile Defense Agency (MDA) sites as necessary
Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. An a ctive Secret clearance and U.S. Citizenship are required.
Desired Skills: - Experience using Remedy software preferred
- Hands-on experience with ECC and EMC2 storage solutions strongly desired
