A growing and established Technology company in the is looking for a Sr. AIX/Linux UNIX Administrator. This person will provide UNIX system administration in a large scale enterprise environment and will work individually as well as in a team. This person will provide hands on technical support related to the overall stability and maintenance of the company's Linux and AIX environments in support of 24/7 operations; perform remote monitoring of systems health and status; and perform regular system maintenance such as applying service packs, hot fixes and upgrades. This person will assist with O/S backups and restores using IBM Tivoli Storage Manger; perform new server installations and install applications when required.

Qualified candidate must have advanced skills in AIX, Linux with the preference in that order. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills; and the ability to work with personnel from multiple engineering disciplines to troubleshoot complex system-level problems is required. Candidates must have experience in the development of scripts (shell/PERL). Candidates must have an understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts and etc.7+ years of experience in a large enterprise environment is required. Candidates must be proficient in a SAN/NAS type of mass storage environment with experience in EMC mass storage devices is a plus. This position will require knowledge of fiber technologies, configuration requirements for connecting up to and providing for fault tolerance in a SAN environment. HACMP, Oracle RAC implementations, GPFS, Workload Analyzer, IBM Logical Partitioning, IBM Power5 Advanced Virtualization, Veritas products (Netbackup, Storage Foundation/HA) is a plus. The candidate must be proficient with scripting languages. Documentation and communication skills will be critical for deliverables that are to be documented using both Microsoft Word and Visio (diagrams).
