Leave of Absence Specialist: Little Falls, NJ
The Leave of Absence Specialist is responsible for providing Human Resource related services to ACS clients regarding Leave of Absence (LOA) services. The Leave of Absence specialist will be responsible for communication with Client Business Line managers and client Human Resources representatives for matters relating to client Leave of Absence policies and procedures. The Specialist will interface with Client Business Line Managers, Human Resources professionals, Third-Party insurance vendors, and employees on Leave of Absence to ensure compliance with all legislative guidelines and client corporate policies. The Leave of Absence specialist will serve as the principal point of contact for answering LOA related questions, and will handle a large volume of inbound client inquires via phone. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: -To provide real-time assistance via phone to client employees regarding general questions pertaining to Leave of Absence policies and procedures. -To handle all inbound requests for Leave of Absence and ensure the appropriate information is documented. -To serve as a subject matter expert regarding all Client Leave of Absence issues including but not limited to: Corporate sponsored Disability Policies, Federal FMLA, State Sponsored FLA, HIPPA, USERA, and other Leave of Absence related legislation and policies. -Respond to phone inquiries from client staff, Human Resources and Line managers regarding status updates to leave cases. -Coordinate information sharing with all other functional groups that interact with the leave process (Payroll, Benefits, Pension, etc…). -Identify and communicate process improvements and assist in implementing change across the department and organization -Attend all departmental meetings as required -Perform other job related duties as required -Act as back-up for other team members in their absence -Escalate complex issues to the appropriate resources for assistance -Establish and maintain close working relationships with the business line HR Points of Contacts, Third Party Disability Vendors, Employee Service Center reps (benefits and payroll), and the HRO-LOA team. EDUCATION AND TYPICAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: -Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience -0 to 3 years of Human Resource generalist experience -1 to 2 years of leave/disability administration preferred but not mandatory. -PeopleSoft, HRIS, a plus. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis in customer service, including experience handling unfavorable situations -Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers (Client Business managers/HR managers and employees) -Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment -Demonstrated working knowledge of human resource related issues, management techniques and business protocol -Effective organizational and administrative expertise with strong attention to detail and reporting deadlines -Ability to work in a high pressure, high volume environment -Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, either individually or in a team setting -Proficient in Windows-based computer environment, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Sensitivity and discretion in handling confidential information of participants and departmental employees -Ability to deal with Time Sensitive Material -Ability to work overtime as needed to ensure meeting all Client Service Level Agreements.
