The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for management and supervision of daily operations and activities of Pharmacy at either Alta Bates Summit Medical Center or Summit Medical Center. The individual will also be the Pharmacist-in-Charge. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting in clinical coordination, which may include: coordinating drug reviews and presentations, formulary management, clinical activities and programs, in-service education, and policy and procedure development/implementation for all facilities. In the absence of the Director, this position is responsible for overall Pharmacy operations. Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy degree is preferred. Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is desirable or must have equivalent experience. Must possess a valid pharmacist license as provided by the State of California and must be in good standing. Demonstrated competence and high level of knowledge in clinical and distribution practice, as would typically be obtained in three years as a hospital pharmacist. A minimum of three years experience in a supervisory or management position with experience in scheduling, employee coaching and counseling, drug usage evaluation, quality assurance monitoring, staff-in-service and JCAHO survey. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, have excellent working relations with staff employees, physicians, and other hospital personnel, be able to effectively coordinate and implement changes in operations, be able to manage multiple priorities at multiple facilities, and have sound clinical pharmacy skills.
