Research Scientist – Animal Health Drug Development - ElancoElanco is a global research-based company that develops and delivers product and services to enhance animal health and production. KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
- Plan, collaborate, develop, oversee, and review the validation of therapeutic disease models for drug development.
- Plan, direct, manage, and lead the implementation of biomarkers in guiding and accelerating drug development for therapeutic diseases in companion animals.
- Design, develop and execute safety and efficacy studies used to support the use of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products in pre-clinical and clinical studies according to appropriate regulations.
- Identify and select CROs and establish contract agreements. Determine needs & procure necessary study supplies, including clinical trial material.
- Coordinate data management, statistics, & monitor study conduct at study sites.
- Prepare technical reports to support regulatory submissions and internal documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and corporate quality standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field.
- Experience with identifying biomarkers related to disease progression.
- Ability to effectively interact with scientists and staff and external contract research organizations.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

- Post Doctoral experience in related field preferred.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
- Travel: International and domestic travel required (about 10-20% of time on average).
- Laboratory setting. Involves work with potentially hazardous materials or allergens. Also involves multi-species bioanalytical samples, including samples containing radioactive residues.
