
Responsibilities/Description: The Director of Engineering-Steam Commercial Products ensures the following is completed successfully and in a timely manner: commercial steam turbine product design, analysis, procurement, assembly and testing. This role provides guidance and direction to Engineering and Drafting personnel, develops and maintains a detailed schedule of necessary activities, and coordinates and monitors efforts of major component suppliers and our internal manufacturing, assembly and test operations.
Qualifications: Required: The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer. A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering An extensive technical background in rotating machinery, with a good overall knowledge of the analytical procedures used in the design, and the manufacturing processes used in the production, of such machinery. Engineering management skills necessary to provide guidance to a team of engineers and drafters during the process of designing and analyzing major rotating equipment components, assemblies and complete units. Project Management and Engineering skills necessary to accurately monitor and expedite the design, production and testing of rotating machinery components and assemblies. Good communication and presentation skills. Background in the testing of rotating equipment, as necessary to determine and evaluate development testing requirements and costs, as well as the costs of the facilities needed to perform such testing. Experienced in procuring required drafting and analysis personnel on a contract basis and monitoring their work and hours worked. Capable of managing contracts and costs associated with the work done by various consulting groups used in the design of Power Turbines. Proficient in the use of MS Project scheduling software

Responsible for progress of the Drafting and Analysis Engineering efforts in support of the design of the SST and Multi Stage Steam Turbine Products. Responsible for development and maintenance of a detailed activity based schedule of the Engineering/Drafting and procurement cycles for steam turbine product offerings. Provide guidance and oversight regarding the accuracy and suitability of the analytical methods selected for use in determining acceptability of the component designs used in the steam turbine product offerings. Participate in the overall evaluation of analysis results, to determine their acceptability. Support analytical and drafting efforts by determining resource needs and obtain resources needed to achieve project objectives when necessary. Support the definition of the development testing necessary to properly evaluate the performance and reliability of the steam turbine product offerings, determine the test facilities and Test Department support necessary to provide that testing, and evaluate the costs to carry out the testing. In the process, testing at various locations both in and out of the Company, are to be considered. Coordinate proper definition and timely supply of specific major components of the Commercial steam Turbine products with suppliers. In particular, work with suppliers of components such as blades, vanes and casings to ensure timely completion of accurate parts. Determine and monitor overall Project and Contract costs and progress against objectives, and the needs of the Operation. Serve as the primary contact point for the Project Manager of any contracts involving commercial steam turbine products prior to their full commercial release. Manage and monitor the outside resources necessary to support this project.
