Located on the scenic Northern California Coast, Sutter Coast Hospital first opened its doors in 1931 and has continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of the residents of Crescent City, California and Brookings-Harbor, Oregon. We affiliated with Sutter Health in 1986 and moved to our present location in 1992. The not-for-profit hospital has 59 beds and serves a population of approximately 43,000. Sutter Coast Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Sutter Coast Hospital provides a wide spectrum of quality health care services ranging from wellness programs to acute hospital care. Services include a 24-hour emergency department, intensive care/critical care units, surgery, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, urgent care and home health services.

Provides direct care to patients ranging in age/developmental stage from infants (pediatrics) to geriatrics with the main focus on adults to geriatrics, using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for managing care of assigned patients and directing and coordinating activities of multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates leadership skills by providing staff teaching, education and skill development.

Must demonstrate Sutter values of caring, compassion, honesty, integrity, excellence, quality, teamwork and community. BSN preferred. Current CPR. Minimum one year experience in acute care setting. Home health/high tech experience preferred. Must be able to function independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Must exhibit strong communications, problem solving, organization and staff/patient teaching skills. Knowledge of JCAHO, HIM-II and relevant State & Federal guidelines preferred. Must have access to dependable vehicle with current auto insurance and driver's license. Must physically be able to climb stairs, negotiate difficult pathways and to carry out duties such as lifting, bending, turning, positioning and supporting patients. Prolonged standing and walking required. Must promote positive customer relations with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, hospital staff, physicians, volunteers, etc. DRUG SCREEN, HEALTH EXAM & BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED.
