Marketing Manager
Adept Technology, Inc. is a global, leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics systems and services. Adept systems provide unmatched performance and economic value throughout the production lifecycle, enabling customers to achieve precision, quality and productivity in their assembly, handling and packaging processes. Adept is currently seeking a Marketing Manager to provide leadership, direction and management for Adept’s global marketing activities with emphasis on market impact, brand utilization, effective product management, customer and market research, clear communications, and organizational leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Manage Adept’s global marketing activities and personnel within budget and with focus on maximizing the impact on Adept’s customers, markets, channels, press and influence generators. • Develop and execute annual marketing plan and budget. •Develop and execute global product plans and strategies focused on growth and profitability and effective management of product life cycles. • Develop product roadmaps that outline short and long term product strategies and communicate internally and externally. • Develop pricing, configuration, licensing, options, line extensions, etc… for products to maximize revenue, margins and competitive positioning. • Manage Adept’s product life cycles from market/customer research, to product concept, to MRD’s, to product launch, to line extension to End-of-life. • Provide market and customer research that drives product development. • Develop and implement competitive intelligence program. • Manage relationship with industry associations such as Robotics Industries Association (RIA) and International Federation of Robotics (IFR) and monitor Adept robotics market share by product, application and geography. • Travel to customers, trade shows, sales meetings, regional offices and industry conferences. • Develop and execute plan for sales tools, presentations, collateral, and training programs for direct and indirect sales channels to maximize their effectiveness and efficiency in the marketplace. • Develop effective distribution programs that provide qualified opportunities to Adept sales channels. Includes management of telemarketing activity. • Provide direction and management for Adept’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and leverage for maximum utilization. • Develop and execute global web 2.0 strategy that maximizes Adept impact. • Develop and execute trade show and conference plan that focuses on key markets, extends the Adept brand and generates qualified leads. • Develop and execute market, application and product collateral plan including brochures, case studies, white papers, data sheets, pictures, video’s, .... • Develop and implement proactive customer communication plan. • Develop and execute corporate and product promotion and lead generation plan that includes PR, advertising, trade shows, Adwords, direct mail, newsletters, email blasts, …. • Act as “voice of Adept” for industry publications, editors, industry analysts and other influence generators.
Educational Background and Qualifications: • BS in Engineering or other related technical area or related experience plus 5-7 years experience in industrial equipment marketing management. MBA Preferred. • Strong background in technical product marketing. Packaging or other computer controlled industrial equipment experience preferred. • Excellent analytical skills and ability to absorb technology and translate into customer and business needs • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively influence people inside and outside the company. • Outstanding verbal and written communications and presentation skills • Proven track record of success • Proven ability to work within cross functional teams
