General Manager, Construction & Facilities Services
Position Summary:
In
support of the district’s educational mission, the General Manager,
Construction & Facilities Services is responsible for the effective
leadership, direction, administration, and management of the
Construction and Facilities Services department.

Immediate Supervisor: Chief Business Operations Officer
|
I llustrative Duties:
|
- Directs facilities services operations on a daily basis.
- Develops
and implements the strategic plan for district facilities to address
deferred maintenance, asset preservation, and growth.
- Establishes departmental goals and objectives. Monitors and measures progress on an on-going basis.
- Develops and implements a communication plan to address customer base at all levels of the district.
- Directs
activities to ensure district compliance with appropriate local, state,
and federal regulations as they pertain to facilities.
- Encourages and practices cooperation with other departments within the district.
- Develops and manages the facilities budget to ensure proper allocation and expenditure of resources.
- Participates in the development of emergency preparedness plans.
- Participates in various committees as appointed by immediate supervisor or superintendent.
- Develops, implements, and directs a comprehensive energy management program.

Education:
|
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline.
|
| Experience:
|
- Ten or more years of experience in leadership positions in large service organizations.
|
| Other Requirements:
|
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of facilities operations, maintenance, and management.
- Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and policies and procedures applicable to facilities management.
- Knowledge of bid, quote and award procedures.
- Ability
to speak clearly, concisely and effectively, and to listen to and
understand information and ideas as presented in writing.
- Ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.
- Ability
to make a decision or solve a problem by using logic to identify key
facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
- Ability to direct others and lead the organization to accomplish established goals and objectives.
