General Summary:
EMC Global Alliances is responsible for creating and enabling service offerings within our partner community. These partners are industry-leading consultants, integrators, and outsourcers. The Global Alliance CTO will take a leadership role in positioning mutually beneficial opportunities that will be taken to market via our partners. EMC has an innovative portfolio designed for building Virtualized Datacenter and Private Cloud Services. Creation and delivery of partner specific content and value propositions are part of the day-to-day activities. This position requires the ability to present to engineers, executives, and CxO level resources from a business and strategic sense. In addition, technical depth is required to assist with embedding EMC technologies into our partner's service portfolio. A deep understanding of the impact of virtualization (compute, network, storage) to the datacenter is needed along with the ability to correlate EMC technology advantages. VMWare and other specialist certifications, high-level solution design, & white boarding skills are a must. The successful candidate will be expected to travel approximately 50% of the time. This is a unique and multi-faceted senior technical role with significant internal and external visibility.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborates with EMC Sales and other resources to understand partner objectives
· Customizes message to best address the objectives and opportunities
· Maintains knowledge of competitive solutions to effectively address and dispel customer objections to EMC solutions
· Presents and markets the design and value of proposed EMC solution to our partners
· Collaborates with EMC Engineering and Service Teams to understand corporate strategies
· Anticipates technology and/or market trends and provides guidance on their application to external customers and feedback of business requirements back into EMC's engineering and marketing organizations
· Successfully builds relationships with sales team members, partners, and customers in support of sales team objectives and engages and leverages corporate resources, abilities, budgets and personnel as appropriate
· Knowledgeable in qualifying sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process, and funding
· Conducts demonstrations of various technology products to medium/large audiences using customized configurations targeting specific customer requirements. Articulates the value proposition of products and concepts being presented/demonstrated and maps the customer business requirements to products and concepts.
· Provides sound technical contributions to account team objectives and understands the short and long term impact on EMC's business metrics (risk, revenue, headcount, and margin).
· Utilizes domain of technical expertise to provide direction for team members and establish a set of common goals and objectives consistent with customer needs.
· Performs other duties as required.

· Recommended Education Required: Undergraduate degree in engineering or higher
· Recommended Experience Required: 8 to 12 years of related experience
