Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the initial launch of a new product by monitoring, evaluating and investigating sensor performance and field issues. Responsibilities will be focused on a disposable electrochemical sensor and will include managing a manufacturing monitoring effort, evaluating and debugging field failures, supporting manufacturing to identify and resolve technical issues, identify and develop product improvements, materials evaluation, process optimization and test methods development. Additional responsibilities include R&D technology transfer and process development/scale-up of new products to manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage manufacturing monitoring team and effort.
  • Investigate field issues, identify root cause and make corrective actions to the product or manufacturing process.
  • Identify and develop improvements to the reliability of the existing product.
  • Develop bench test methods to improve product performance testing and monitoring.
  • Monitor field performance and product yields, initiate investigations and corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Identify and develop potential improvement for next generation products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or masters degree in Engineering, Biomedical engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years experience in medical devices, medical diagnostics or analytical instrumentation field.
  • Proven track record in the commercialization and manufacture of medical devices and/or medical diagnostic products. Candidates with proven successful experience in the development, support, and continuous improvement of sensor-related and/or biologically based quantitative products preferred.
  • Experience in statistical data analysis, strong analytical skills, experimental design and DOE design and data analysis are desired.
