Assistant Buyer

What You Do:

  • Meet sales, turnover, PMU, return percentage and sell-through goals that are established prior to each year for stores and distribution centers.
  • Place initial orders and reorders, set modes and cut returns as directed by the buyer.
  • Review filters and recommend model adjustments in stores; execute adjustments as directed.
  • Track promotional item sales results to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Conduct backlist reviews and recommend assortment adjustments to buyer.
  • Submit graphic requests and VSM tracking forms for product merchandising.
  • Coordinate the set-up and distribution of regional titles for assigned subjects.
  • Establish Alpha Classes/Sales Clusters for each buying category.
  • Handle store calls relating to title information.
What's Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 2-3 years of planning or buying experience
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of all retail metrics
