Experienced Energy Manager



The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified candidates for position of DBHDD Energy Manager .

The incumbent will be the designated Energy Manager for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. The Energy Manager will obtain training provided by government and private sector entities in continuous improvement of energy conservation.

Responsibilities:

  • Chair the DBHDD Energy Management Team/Council/Board as appropriate.
  • Create the DBHDD Strategic Energy Management Plan within requirements of the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority (GEFA) and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), a division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) no later than December 31, 2009.
  • Determine previous Department energy management and water conservation efforts and accomplishments.
  • Establish short-term goals by defining the roles and responsibilities for the Committee and Coordinator.
  • Evaluate and recommend funding for energy upgrades to save money within an acceptable payback timeframe.
  • When energy projects are completed, this individual will be responsible for tracking energy savings realized
  • Produce Departmental Energy and Water Management policies and procedures with the DBHDD's Office of Policy and Technical Training. Will update as often as is necessary.
  • Attend and represent the Department in Energy meetings with governmental and private sector entities.
