We are currently seeking qualified candidates for two Senior Firmware Engineer positions in our Carlsbad, California R&D center. The Senior Firmware Engineers will be responsible for embedded software development for 2G/3G wireless voice and data products.
Responsibilities will include the design, development, testing and debugging firmware, embedded applications and APIs for M2M and Automotive Telematics devices. On a project assignment basis, these positions may act as a software project lead to coordinate feature developments, bug fixes, releases and interface with other project members outside of the Automotive Development group. They may also provide technical advice to the other team members and drive process optimization and quality improvement initiatives.
Minimum requirements for these positions include:

5+ years experience in embedded software development using C and assembly language.

Familiar with real time embedded development with strong RTOS experience.

Familiar with CDMA 1xRTT, EVDO, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, or other cellular technologies. MAC and Network layer preferred.

Familiar with embedded software debugging tools such as JTAG, In-Circuit Emulator, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope.

Familiar with USB, UART, GPIO, I2C, Audio, BSP, or other embedded driver experience.

Familiar with software configuration management tools such as ClearCase/Clearquest.

BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
The following experience is also preferred:
-
Previous automotive telematics experience.

Familiar with Qualcomm MSM/MDM/QSC family of devices, AMSS reference design, and BREW development platform.

Familiar with memory management systems, file systems, and protection algorithms.

Familiar with TCP/IP/PPP/MIP/SIP or other data protocols.

Familiar with carrier requirements and activation processes including OTASP, IOTA, OMA-DM and OMA-FOTA.

Familiar with 802.16e WiMAX mobile standards. MAC layer preferred.

Familiar with IS-801 GPS control plane interface.
