Eligibility Account Representative (COPY): Cardon Healthcare Network

JOB DESCRIPTION: ENTRY LEVEL Position

Account Representatives work with the hospital uninsured patients. This position conducts a financial screening process in order to establish potential eligibility for financial medical assistance under Federal, State, County and Charity programs to include other payments options for the hospital patients. This individual should also conduct a role of being a liaison for patients in working with Federal, State, County and Charity programs to establish financial medical coverage for services rendered by a health-care provider. The process will also include conducting followup on all patient encounters in order to secure financial medical assistance to include payment options for services rendered by a health-care provider. This individual should be able to work in a support center enviroment. Position could involved other duties as assigned by management. This is NOT a sales positions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school or equivalent is required
• Great customer service skills
• Medical terminology (preferred but not required)
• Bilingual Spanish skills (preferred)
• Must be a team-player
• Must have excellent communication skills (including writing)
• Highly motivated
• Must be proficent in computers
• Must be a self-starter
• Be able to work independently
• knowledge of SSI, Medicaid and other government assistance programs (preferred but not required)
• Insurance collections or billing background (preferred but not required)
• Other duties will be assigned by management
