The primary function of the Principal Analyst/Finance Manager is to assist the Endoscopy division in support of margin expansion opportunities and acquisition analysis/due diligence. He/She will partner with R&D, Supply Chain and Operations teams on key projects to identify margin opportunity areas. This position also partners with senior management and Business Development to model and provide financial assistance with potential acquisition modeling and subsequent due diligence activities. Also responsible for the monthly financial close, quarterly forecasting and strategic plan pertaining of gross margin. Position reports to the VP of Endoscopy Finance, and has a high degree of exposure to the Endoscopy Senior Management, Supply Chain teams, as well as interaction with other Divisional and Regional finance groups across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Analyze and understand main drivers of margin changes within the Endoscopy P&L and make recommendations for improvement
· Manage the quarterly forecasting process including coordinating with the marketing and supply chain groups to identify key business drivers and ensure appropriate demand forecasts and inventory levels.
· Perform all aspects of the monthly financial close including generation of monthly and quarterly gross margin bridges, booking of appropriate reserve entries, management reporting, variance/trend analysis.
· Assist and support quarterly forecast, portfolio and strategic planning processes pertaining to margin.
· Assist and support in the preparation of various ROI analyses (NPV modeling) pertaining to potential cost/system improvements within Endoscopy.
· Perform pro-forma modeling of potential acquisition targets, partnering with Endoscopy and Corporate Business Development teams.
· Establish financial models, metrics and scorecards to assess and monitor program results.
· Participate in multi-divisional Finance Best Practice initiatives and special projects.
· Represents finance on key cross-functional initiatives working to resolve and improve common issues.
· Quickly respond to numerous ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Senior Management).
Qualifications:
Six to ten years of financial analysis, planning, and business support experience required. Prior experience in a medium to large company preferred. Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting required (MBA a plus). Must be able to work well in a complex, highly matrixed worldwide organization and be able to simplify that matrix for reporting and analytical purposes.
The successful candidate will need to exhibit the following skills:
Ø Strong systems skills. Familiarity with Hyperion Enterprise and/or HFM, Hyperion Planning, SAP and PeopleSoft a plus. Strong Excel skills required.
Ø Ability to consolidate, synthesize and report on large amounts of financial data.
Ø Very strong financial analysis skills. Attention to detail & data accuracy.
Ø Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Ø Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Ø Ability to work autonomously and act in a consultative role.
Ø Exceptional organizational & time management skills are crucial. Environment is fast-paced and multi-tasking is essential.
