Job Description
Scouting of Raw Materials for the Fachgruppe Chassis and Engine / Interior / Exterior (Bilingual Spanish/English)
Role Responsibilities
•Close Communication with the Team Local Raw material Localization in Germany
•Active Internet Research and visits of Raw Material Fares
•Ordering of Potential Raw Material if it meets the requirement according to the Datasheet
•Organizing Trials at the Tier1 suppliers in Volkswagen Prototype or Series Toolings
•Organizing a quick transport to Laboratory Engineers in the Laboratory Mexico / External Laboratories
•Leading and Tracking of the Laboratory Engineers in the Laboratory Mexico / External Laboratories
•Tracking and communicating of all Laboratory Results
•Transfer of Laboratory results to the Raw Material Supplier if available and defining action and timing for optimization
•Planning and implementing part related laboratory tests
•Interpretation and Justification of laboratory tests
•Harmonize corrective measures with different departments
•Recommending corrective measures to fulfill quality and development goals
•Providing all necessary information for qualification
•Development of local suppliers for raw materials or vehicle parts.
•Consultation of technical engineering department concerning the applicability of local raw materials and their specifications.
•Tests, evaluation and release of components according to material specs for vehicle parts from local American production.
•Analyze and work out measures to eliminate material-related problems of vehicle parts.
•Planning and execution of laboratory activities to analyze and eliminate material-related problems with vehicle parts and material-related problems in the manufacturing process
•Assure the correct receiving of the samples, apply correct test procedures in VW and related laboratories (suppliers, universities and other institutes)
•Assure VW quality level at material evaluations and releases
•Support related areas (purchasing, QA purchased parts, engineering, suppliers) to apply the best material (costs/benefit) in VW vehicle parts
•Compare German, American and other international material standards to choose the right material for VW vehicle parts applications
•Evaluate laboratory reports of VW and related laboratories
•Evaluate local raw material against VW specification
Job Requirements
5 years experience in material development and/or material tests in laboratories

•Ability to choose material according to part requirements
•Understanding of influences to material properties
•Processing of materials
•Experience in automotive area (OEM´s, suppliers) helpful
•Social and cultural skills in American and European culture
•Solid basic knowledge in Spanish language
