The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing training curriculum. Reports to: Training Manager Department: Training Division: Office of the CEO
Summary: The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing and developing training curriculum and course materials to address the specific needs required of the product technical track of the overall ESET training roadmap. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of creating content specifically designed to support product education objectives related to post sales deployment and installation, technical feature sets, product troubleshooting, complex network environment deployments, etc. Ideal candidate will have a technical background and ability to accomplish the task while maintaining world-class training track program standards.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze internal business unit, partner and end –user technical training needs, including task, audience and content analysis
- Design and develop training materials for classroom, self-paced, and Interactive e-learning formats that drive product technical track program needs
- Develop and maintain ‘Technical Training’ blog
- Coordinate product technical track training projects including requirements analysis, project resources, and resolving project constraints or issues
- Will coordinate with other team members/subject matter experts (SMEs) to validate training content
- Create, administer, and analyze skill/knowledge tests and surveys. Interview training participants and stakeholders and prepare evaluation documents
- Establish evaluation standards, and conduct training program evaluations, including interviews, surveys and skill/knowledge tests
- Conduct user interface interviews, reviews and usability testing and prepare evaluation documents for product technical track training program
- Functions as a training product technical track program advocate across applications and teams emphasizing user-centered instructional design principals
- Establish and maintain relationships with business units, partners and professional colleagues to help identify educational requirements and training solutions appropriate to support a product training program at the highest standards
- Build world-class, award winning training content and materials
- Work with the Training Manager to establish company-wide product technical track training goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Instructional Design or other closely related field
- 3 – 5 years of instructional design experience with blended learning strategies Including classroom, self-study, and interactive web based methods
- Excellent knowledge of adult learning, technical communication and instructional design principals
- Excellent communication skills, (oral, written, and active listening); ability to communicate effectively with peers, end users, and all levels of management
- Strong project management, time management, and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of human performance improvement principals
- Past experience in building training for future application in certification programs & content highly desired
- Bilingual (Spanish) highly desire-able
- Extensive experience with Articulate, Brainshark, Captivate or other e-learning authoring tool highly desired
- Flash skills highly desired
- Experience with Moodle or other LMS is helpful but not required
